OPERA - On-line Platform for Experience Retail in Automotive

The power of Augmented Reality allows customers to immerse themselves in the experience of choosing their new car.

OPERA is an online platform that enables the integration of the manufacturer’s car model configurator with different types of customer devices, enabling the presentation of vehicles and accessories through an Augmented Reality experience and with close interaction between salesperson and customer.

The customer’s experience begins with configuring the vehicle of interest directly on the manufacturer’s website. Subsequently, a QR Code will appear on the screen that, scanned with a smartphone or tablet , will allow immediate access to the OPERA platform where the vehicle can be explored entirely in Augmented Reality.

With the high-quality 3D model in Augmented Reality on the client's device, it will be possible to:

  • change the fittings, colors, options and accessories
  • rotate around the exterior of the vehicle
  • enter the passenger compartment
  • open doors, trunk, engine hood and sunroof
  • zoom in on various views of the car

The car, once customized, will be synchronized and integrated into the new set-up on the manufacturer’s website. The customer will then be able to choose a dealership and contact a salesperson who will present the vehicle as configured and answer questions via video calls and the Augmented Reality car model. The salesperson will also have the opportunity to present a real vehicle in the showroom and explore it with the customer to engage and establish trust with them.
